Country-level isolation is enforced at the database query layer. A Kenya HR user account, even logged into the API, cannot retrieve a single Nigeria payroll record. The same applies to regional and country roles. The permissions model is row-level, not screen-level.
Yes — Global Admin roles have full cross-country read access. Write access can be configured per role (e.g. global admin can read all but only country HR can initiate payroll). Every cross-country access is logged.
We support 40+ African countries today including the unusual ones — São Tomé Dobras, Mauritanian Ouguiya, Eritrean Nakfa, South Sudanese Pound. If you operate somewhere we don't support, we add it during onboarding.
You choose: spot rate at run-time, locked rate at start of month, or a custom rate you set. Most multi-country organisations use the start-of-month locked rate — predictable for budgeting, customer-friendly for staff. FX revaluation reports are generated automatically for finance.
The change is applied centrally in the system. Every payroll run after the effective date uses the new rates for that country. Other countries are unaffected. You don't coordinate updates across country HR teams.
For a country we already support: 2–5 business days (entity setup, statutory configuration, user provisioning, data migration). For a country we don't yet support: 4–6 weeks to research and encode the statutory framework, then onboard normally.
Yes. Read-only auditor roles can be scoped to a single country and a date range. Their access ends automatically at the end of the audit window.
